Lake Hattie

Plains Lakes 3/5/24

By Gelatt, Lake Hattie, Laramie Plains Lakes, Meeboer, Twin Buttes, Wyoming

Meeboer about 1/5 of the lake is open from the aerator to the east. Edges looked like they had been open yesterday and refrozen overnight. West end and north side if the “horseshoe” where still capped solid. Gelatt 80% capped with open water from the aerator to almost the west and north shore. There is some evidence of ice fishing on it yesterday but the edges to the west looked to have been open some as well. Twin Buttes 100% capped and looked surprisingly solid still. Hattie Still 95% capped but edges are opening more and more each warm day. Use extreme caution if you head out on the ice. (Thanks to J.G. For the Hattie pics from 3/4 afternoon)

Lake Hattie 12/18/21

By Lake Hattie, Laramie Plains Lakes, Wyoming

Ice is 1”-4”. Hattie has a wide variance in thickness and quality of ice today but was capped. A couple of fisherman where brave enough to venture out by the dam and boat ramp which had around 4” of ice. Reports from the rest of the lake varies from 1”-3” all the way up to upper lake along the shore but not enough for us to venture out a verify today. Looks like a good start for now but needs some more cold.

Lake is extremely full so bank fishing can be hard. Bait: worms of bottom, power bait (rainbow, green) Flies: big streamers, Bite-me-buggers, hot heads, eggs Luers: Dardevil (red/white, gold), rapals (brown trout, pearch)
